7-8 FEBRUARY 2020

Faith without deeds is dead.

(Epistle of Apostle James, 2:26)

On 7 and 8 of February, 2020, a forum-meeting entitled “Faith and Deeds” will take place in Venice under the auspices of the Mekhitarist Congregation and the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Patriarchal Delegation of Western Europe. The forum was initiated and organized by the “Holy Mother of God Home” Foundation (Yerevan).

In today’s world, expressing faith and living by faith seems to be an almost impossible challenge. The goal of this forum is to create a crossroads of ideas, where, through comprehensive discussions, it could be possible to present to the public a new vision of living and strengthening the faith.

The project is called “Faith and Deeds” because in every person’s life faith is strengthened and nourished by prayer and becomes tangible through deeds. The Monastery of Mekhitarist Congregation in Venice was proposed as a venue for discussion, considering the centuries-old tradition of passing to the public its “faith-deeds” notion, and the importance of continuing and applying this tradition today.

The meeting will be attended by representatives from different spheres, including clergymen, intellectuals, businessmen, as well as representatives from non-governmental and charitable organizations, who will provide evidence from their own experience on the issues raised.

The discussions will be accompanied by 4 topic sessions, each of which will have its own coordinator. The latter will actively involve other participants in the meeting while presenting the relevant topic. The Venice Forum is expected to be held annually.
