Harout Baghamian was born on 24 November 1981, in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem, where he still lives. He received his primary education at the Secondary School of the Holy Translators in Jerusalem. From 2003 to 2008, he studied at International Relations and Sociology Departments at Hebrew University of Jerusalem. From 2017 to 2019, he received a master’s degree in International Law from the Hebrew University. From 2008 to 2017, he was a member of the board of directors of Holy Translators School in Jerusalem. He was a teacher of Geography and Armenian History, as well as responsible for cultural programs. Currently he is an Assistant to the Rector of Hebrew University. Since young age, he has been a cultural and national figure in Jerusalem’s community, and has been holding various positions. Now he is the Chairman of Homenetmen in Jerusalem, as well as the “Armadner” Commission, recently established by His Beatitude Archbishop Nourhan Manougian, the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem.
